Canine Treats

Found this recipe. Will try it one of these days:

DOG BISCUITS
2 c. wheat flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. powdered milk
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. oil
1 egg
1 tbsp. brown sugar or honey
1/2 c. water
Mix together and roll out. Use dog biscuit (bone) cookie cutter, or any other shape your dog "likes". Bake at low heat until dry and hard.

yah let's do! if the dogs don't like it, much can be said about preparation of food for human consumption..

Actually this recipe is not far off from the gingerbread recipe I just used, which is very good. http://www.chefs.com/Recipes/RecipeDetails.aspx?id=10521

It contained (on the left against your dog biscuits on the right) ...

flour = wheatflour
egg = egg
butter = oil
sugar = sugar
molasses = honey
salt = salt

Of course also ginger and cinnamon spices, but yours seem healthier with wheatgerm!

So I reckon you can eat the dog biscuits, just don't break your teeth!!
